TaylorMade GTA Amateur Tour
Play like an amateur, get spoiled like a pro.
The only problem pros might have with our golf tournaments is that they don't qualify for them.
Inspired by the way professionals play the game, the GTA Amateur golf tour brings together golf enthusiasts of various backgrounds to compete on 22 of Ontario's best public and private courses. No gimmies, mulligians or do-overs here. We're talking about by the book, no nonsense competitive style play. But as long as you have a handicap of 25 or under, you're eligible to compete in any of our unforgettable tournaments. It's your chance to feel like a pro even if you aren't.
Competitors play a gross score format throughout the event dates in one of four Flights:
Championship Flight (players with a Handicap Factor of 4.9 or less) |
A Flight (players with a Handicap Factor between 5.0 - 9.9) |
B Flight (players with a Handicap Factor between 10.0 - 14.9) |
C Flight (players with a Handicap Factor between 15.0 - 22.0) |
Each event is limited to 120 players on a first come – first served basis.
Playing the Tour
The GTA Amateur Tour creates a unique opportunity for players to play in a well organized and competitive event while maintaining that great sense of camaraderie you have with your regular group. The Tour is an excellent way for players of all handicaps to develop their competitive golf skills and heighten their game. In addition, you will meet other golf enthusiasts at some of the newest and best courses in the Country. The Tour tees players off the first tee in threesomes every 10 minutes to provide you with a true tournament experience.
Communication
Once you've registered, let's stay in touch
After registering, each player can request an email detailing his or her selected events. Three weeks before each event, the first 120 players will get an email reminding them that they are registered for the approaching event. If a player decides they are unable to attend, they must visit the Tour website and remove themselves from the event at least two weeks before the event date. Players on the waiting list will be notified when spots become available with the option to visit the website and register for a vacant spot. Spots will be filled on a first clicked first served basis.
Tee times will be emailed to players and posted on The Tour's website about 7 days prior to each event. Most of the events have morning tee times usually starting between 7:00AM and 8:00AM. Early or late tee times requests must be emailed to Peter Norrie (peter@gtaamateurtour.com) at least eight days prior to the event.
The results of each event will be posted the same day on The GTA Amateur Tour's website and emailed to over 60 media outlets. Each entrant will also receive periodic updates and notifications via e-mail.
